Paul Alaniz

The role of music and its placement in film is crucial to "making or breaking" a project. Audience's associate music in films with: character emotions, breathtaking scenery, and leaves them with an imprint of the story line. A distant cello/piano duet at a tender moment provides the observer with warm feelings and carries them to the threshold in the story line. A composer has done well to assist the Director to transport the audience to a different time and place. Music acts in consort with: voice dialog, sound effects to paint the picture for the audience. From the early black and white film of the 30's to the blockbuster movie event, music has always been the center of assisting the actors and developing a scene. This married with a solid script and sound mastering can have an audience begging for more. The silence is the canvas.
